The Buffalo Bills

Another season where the Bills had their fair share of drama but pulled together a great run only to be knocked out by the Chiefs again. This is becoming a trend Bills fans are getting to know all too well and I’m sure are not enjoying a single second of it and want some change. With a lot of off-season losses lets see how the Bills reloaded in their draft with the first four picks and evaluate their future.

Pick 33 came after trading back several times I believe and they landed on Keon Coleman (WR). This pick speaks to a new vision with the Bills looking for a big receiver that can go up and get it, not like a route tech that Diggs was. Coleman has some good upside and showed plenty of flash but his biggest downfall is the inability to separate from CB’s. With some help he could turn that around but that would be his biggest knock at the moment.

At pick 60, Cole Bishop (DB). Cole is a swiss army knife pick, playing in the box and playing deep over the last three years. Bishop will have serious potential to work in the box and cover in the slot. His size will make for another great tackler at the second level giving the guys up front some comfort.

With the 95th pick the Bills grabbed DeWayne Carter (DT). Carter is a guy that lacks some size and finesse and had his worse statistical year this past but the potential is there. DeWayne will be a great hole filler and run stuffing guy and with some work he has upside to be a consistent pass rusher.

Pick 128 may be my favorite of the Bills in Ray Davis (RB). James Cook showed plenty that he deserves the starting role but has he earned serious money yet? The Bills were in cap hell this year and I think they would prefer to stay out of it. Thats where Ray Davis comes in with his smaller stature but boy is this kid a bowling ball rolling down a hill at the second level. Davis can be that guy that if you need a yard or two he will get you that and then some. Davis will help the room and help take some pressure off Allen’s arm.

I really thought the Bills were gonna have to take a year or two off. Allen is going to show why he is a top QB but he hasn’t shied away from that before and with this draft they can still take the division. I loved how they went about their picks after Coleman that has earned them a very good A- for this year’s draft. Even with the losses, the Bills have to keep the super bowl in their mind. With the money Allen is making, just like any other QB that is paid, they want a super bowl from you. Most realistic for me is them to have a similar year if not a little worse and get bounced round one of the playoffs.
