The New York Jets

I mean, the Jets and probably every fan want to wipe their hands of the 2023 season they had after four snaps with Rodgers. Just terrible what happened with so much promise going into the year. Rodgers is healthy and may be even better considering his arm got more rest. Let’s dive into the Jets first four picks of the draft and see what the future looks like for them.
Pick 11 Olu Fashanu (OT) may have come as a surprise to even Aarin Rodgers but this is a pick for beyond the Rodgers era in New York. Fashanu is a pick that can be pro-bowl to all-pro year 1. Having a young OT like Olu just makes life easier for whoever is under center and he will only get better which is scary for opposing pass rushers.
Round 3 pick 65 Malachi Corley (WR) is exactly what the Jets need for their offense. The defense was stellar even always having their backs against the wall and Malachi Corley is going to make life easier for Rodgers and the team. The addition of Mike Williams makes for a really good deep threat so Corley and Wilson can be who they are and be shifty and run amazing routes.
The 134th pick Braelon Allen (RB) is the pick I question the most. It’s not because Allen isn’t an amazing player which he is, it is just that you already have Breece Hall who is an amazing three down back. I understand always having a backup plan since Hall has already tore his ACL. Allen is as productive as it gets and his size would make me nervous to meet him in a gap to try and tackle him.
171 could very well be the after Rodgers with Jordan Travis (QB). Jordan suffered a very bad injury to his leg towards the end of the year last year and could very well be what kept Florida State out of the college playoffs. Travis has proven to be accurate and keep the ball out of the defenses hands and that could be all the Jets need to make a good consistent run each year for playoffs and beyond with the defense they have. I like the pick and thought it was the right move to not wait another year.
Overall I think the Jets made moves for a win now but had the future very much in mind. This team can probably have a winning record if Jordan Travis but having Rodgers healthy for the entire year and hopefully a week 18 rest could be beneficial for a good playoff run/superbowl run. I would give this draft a generous B, because I love the first two picks but the later rounds made some sense but could have gone differently. The Jets are in win now mode with a 40 year old future hall of famer QB so it’s a super bowl or bust for them. My take is a conference championship game on the high end.
