The Chicago Bears

Can it finally be over? Can the Bears finally get a QB and start a run as a competitive team and make Playoff hopes not hopes but reality? It comes down to how this draft performs so let’s go over the first four picks and see what the future now looks like for the Chicago Bears.
The 1st overall Caleb Williams (QB) was going number one any year he came out. Caleb is looked at as a generational guy by most and still has a high ceiling just like any rookie QB that is going to get better and learn more. Caleb came off a Heisman season last year and for those that think he was not as effective simply did not watch him play and watch his o-line play. To put it out there, a USC WR was not taken until day 3 of the NFL draft which I think bodes well for Caleb Williams and what he did.
Want to help your franchise QB? Go get him one of the best receivers in the entire country with Rome Odunze (WR) at pick 9. Coming off a 13 touchdown and 1600 yard season Rome is going to come in and still be able to not see number 1 corners with Keenan Allen and DJ Moore being there. He will grow with Caleb and can be watched for offensive rookie of the year.
At number 75 the Bear grabbed Kiran Amegadjie (OT) to apply some pressure to the LT position. Kiran had his season ended with an injury but his 2022 campaign at LT was very good and didn’t allow a sack through 10 games played and around 300 pass blocking snaps. Amegadjie will put some heat on current LT Braxton Jones but will surely be the 2nd string if he ends up losing the battle in camp.
Pick 122 I can say makes me scratch my head with Tory Taylor (P). Now I am very happy for him considering he was Iowa’s offense last year and had a net average of 48 yards per punt. He will start and hopefully not have to punt as much as he did last year in college but I think they could have gone in a different direction this round.
This draft by the Bears will set them up nicely for the future and should turn them into a very competitive team and get them to the playoffs. I give them a very nice A draft grade for their class in 2024. Expectations are always higher after a draft pick like Caleb but I think going positive is the best case for them and continuing to grow as a team over the next year or two will get them competing for the division and playoff wins.
