The Green Bay Packers

What a year it was for the Packers. Jordan Love seemingly answered any questions about him while throwing to still not a great receiver room. Coaching was amazing and this young team is only going to get better. Let’s dive into their first four picks of the draft and see what the future looks like for them.
Pick 25 Jordan Morgan (OT) was a good move after losing their all-pro tackle. Getting a guy like Morgan with over 2,000 snaps taken at LT is great news for Jordan Love and the offense as whole. Morgan will need to get stronger and anchor better but he is very athletic and his feet are his greatest asset at this point.
Edgerrin Cooper (LB) at pick 45 is just what the Packers are looking for on defense. Cooper will 100% be getting the green dot at some point and be running the show. Cooper and Walker will pair nicely together and as long as Cooper can clean up some missed tackling he will be a premier part of that defense early.
With pick 58 Javon Bullard (DB) the Packers add some good depth to that secondary. Bullard has over 400 snaps deep and 600+ in the slot so he is going to be versatile for them. I think putting Bullard deep would be the best thing for them and him but with the work he has in the slot he will not be in one place during the season. I really like this pick and with Alexander having injury issues it just helps overall for the secondary.
The 88th pick MarShawn Lloyd (RB) makes me a little confused but also makes sense. I don’t think it was needed with Dillon coming back on the tender deal and paying Jacobs all that money. I like it for the fact that I think he will overtake Dillon as RB2 on the roster within camp or after a few games. He is a guy that could get in the endzone and has a great build to him. With some footwork tweaking and work he can be a feature to this offense within a year or two.
I think the Packers could have helped love and the “skill positions” more but I think this was a very solid draft for them. I love their two 7th rounders in Pratt and Kalen King so with that being said this draft earned a nice B+. The future of the Packers looks good and looks like they will be fighting for division titles often. I think their floor is another playoff win and could see them make a conference championship as long as Love does not regress and keeps this boat moving in the right direction.
