The Tennessee Titans

Is Will Levis the guy? Do the Titans have enough gas to go toe to toe with the Texans in the AFC South? I think we will see very early and get answers fast on those questions come this 2024/25 season. The Titans have a new vision so let’s see how they shaped that vision with their first four picks in the draft and see where we think this team can go.

Pick 7 was JC Latham (OT) and what a mountain of a human being he is. 6 ‘6 and 335 pounds paired with legendary o-line coach Brian Callahan, Latham is set to make an impact from day 1. JC with be asked to be very on point from the get go and lead the charge for their line in the pass and run game. A team that looks to be shaping up to run a balanced attack gets the right guy from an Alabama program that threw and ran the ball almost 50/50.

At pick 38 the Titans grabbed a real anchor to sit next to Simmons on the d-line in T’Vondre Sweat (DT). Sweat was a little overlooked because of Byron Murphy but had his fair share of production on the field. T’vondre showed his ability to stuff the run and make the man under center a bit nervous too. I would like to see Sweat drop a little bit of weight for conditioning purposes but he will help create a brick wall of thickness on that d-line for the Titans.

Staying on the defensive side of the ball at pick 106 the Titans grabbed Cedric Gray (LB). An Absolute tackling machine and field general is what you get from Cedric Gray. 4.64 40 time can be better but having that built 235 pound frame is going to help Gray fill run gaps and continue to make every tackle.

Pick number 146 coming in and the card read Jarvis Brownlee Jr (CB). This pick is more of a depth piece choice. I can’t see a guy who runs over a 4.50 at 190 pounds to be a playmaker or impact guy out of the gate. Dropping some weight might help with speed but the experience outside will help the Titans bearing an injury from Sneed.

I loved the first three picks handed in by the Titans in this draft and see some potential in their later round picks. I think they deserve a very good B+ for their draft this year. The Titans future looks good but expectations right now is taking the South. I think it’s a good season if you can best the Texans for the division, even second would not be a bad look either and that seems more of what could happen.
